Working
as a security middleware, the ST Toolkit provides
a security infrastructure for any B2B operations. |
A
real-world application for the ST Toolkit, in use by
the People’s Bank of China.

In this
case study, the EverLink ST Toolkit uses the EverLink
Client and the EntryGuard Server to secure check images
sent from the check-clearing center to a local branch
office. Though this information will be sent through
the public Internet, because of the end-to-end security
established by the components of the ST Toolkit, it
will traverse a virtual path directly from the clearing
center to the branch office (indicated by the red arrows).
When the branch office receives the check image, it
will forward a receipt to the clearing center through
the same secure, virtual path.
The
People’s Bank of China also uses the ST Toolkit to privately
send check status information from a central check-clearing
center to a local branch office. First, the branch office
sends an encrypted inquiry about the status of a check
along a secure path to the clearing center. The clearing
center then responds along the same virtual path back
to the branch with the necessary information. Once again,
though this sensitive information passes through the
public Internet, it is absolutely secured as it traverses
a virtual, end-to-end path.
The
EverLink ST Toolkit is a security middleware that can
be customized to meet your specific security goals.
