Anyware Technology introduces EverLink Suite 2.0
New Suite Secures Business-to-Business Internet Communications
and Commerce
CITY
OF INDUSTRY, Calif., Jan. 17, 2000
Anyware Technology, a provider
of secure Internet communications solutions, today announced
the availability of the EverLink Suite 2.0, a feature-rich
software solution designed to safeguard network travel
of corporate information. A cross-platform, client/server
application with a browser-accessibility feature, EverLink
provides secure file transfer, e-mail and instant messaging
over the Internet and corporate intranet with Public
Key Infrastructure (PKI), digital-certificate and encryption
technology.
More
commonly, enterprises are engaging in Internet- driven
communications with customers, suppliers, partners and
employees worldwide. The EverLink Suite is an attractive
package because it is cost effective, user- friendly
and highly scalable.
The
EverLink Suite 2.0 is the ideal solution for enterprises
seeking to leverage Internet-based communications in
a fully controllable, secure and robust environment,
said Roy K. Han, chief executive officer and co-founder
of Anyware Technology. EverLink could easily become
an industry standard for Fortune 1000 companies as well
as government, banking, financial, educational, legal
and medical enterprises.
Laura
Yavitz, director of educational computing at Claremont
School of Theology in Claremont, Calif., said: The
EverLink Suite is extremely useful, secure and fast.
It is easy to work with and is now in demand by our
staff. In particular, the e-File function has proven
very solid and is just as reliable, whether
across the office or across the ocean to England.
This has permitted our team members to increase their
productivity.
Key Features of EverLink Suite
Digital
Certificates
The
EverLink Suite 2.0 is PKI ready and works with any certificate
aAuthority
such as Verisign,
Entrust® or Thawte.
With sites authenticated by a CA, a corporation in one
country can establish trust between its own certificate
authority, and the CA of an organization in another
country. In addition, EverLink will authenticate a computer
with a dynamic IP address by issuing an X.509 digital
certificate. Also, the server and client automatically
verify the certificate
revocation list (CRL) in SSL and S/MIME operations.
Encryption
EverLink
provides end-to-end SSL encrypted connections, using
industry-standard encryption technologies including
168-bit Triple-DES. These connections are effective
regardless of the source/destination computers
location in relation to the firewall and require no
change in the network structure. The end-to-end connection
may be initiated from an EverLink client or a common
browser.
SSL & S/MIME
E-mail
messages are transferred via end-to-end SSL or S/MIME.
Messages sent via SSL go directly from the source to
the destination without remaining on an SMTP server.
This achieves the highest level of security and real-time
communication. This built-in e-mail security mechanism
prevents viruses from spreading through the corporation's
email system regardless of whether the virus is new
or recognized. Users can import contact information
from other e-mail client address books, such as Netscape®
Messenger and Microsoft® Outlook.
Moreover, EverLink is one of the few e-mail clients
supporting the Linux platform.
Centralized
Control Policy
The
Centralized Control Policy gives corporations the ability
to control their network granularly. Should a hacker
penetrate a certain user account, the corporation will
have an exact assessment of the information exposed.
Control is further enhanced with
content duplication of e-mail and files and a screening/blocking
feature that can prevent unauthorized transfer of sensitive
data and easily identify security breaches; this allows
complete control of the information and sender. The
control feature is easy to customize and includes logging,
duplication, keyword scanning and blocking of
all file transfer, email messages with attachments and
instant messaging contents. This is accomplished even
though the information is encrypted during transmission.
The Centralized Control Policy
is defined at the server level; users cannot alter it
and it is enforced whether the user is inside or outside
the corporate firewall.
EverLink
Client and EntryGuard Server
The
suite includes two software components: the EverLink
Client and the EntryGuard Server. The EverLink Client
enables secure and instant file transfer, e-mail, instant
messaging, with encryption and decryption of all information.
The client will run on all Windows platforms, Solaris,
Linux, MAC and OS/2. The EntryGuard Server protects
the companys intranet from unauthorized access
while allowing authorized parties to communicate securely
and privately with sites behind the firewall under the
companys supervision. The server will run on any
operating system that supports a Java Virtual Machine,
including Windows NT, Solaris and Linux. It also operates
on most mini/mainframe computers running with Unix.
Availability
EverLink
Suite 2.0 is available direct from Anyware Technology
or through value-added resellers (VARs).
The suggested retail price is $1,145 for a 25-user
license and $5,000 for the server with a gold package
(40-56 bit encryption.)
It is $9,000 for a 100-user license and $25,000
for a server with the platinum package (40-168 bit encryption.)
