ANYWARE TECHNOLOGY ANNOUNCES JAVA TECHNOLOGY SECURITY
PRODUCT FOR INTERNET COMMUNICATIONS
EverLink
Suite Provides Secure Remote Network Access Via
the Internet
CITY OF INDUSTRY,
California -- April 27, 1998 -- Anyware Technology,
Inc. today announced plans to enter the Internet/intranet
software marketplace with a unique cross-platform software
solution that provides organizations with private and
secure e-mail and file transfers over WANs or the Internet.
The companys first product, EverLink Suite,
requires no investment in networking hardware and dramatically
reduces networking costs as compared to leased lines
and similar solutions.
"Sun is excited to
see Anyware Technology integrating the Java programming
language into their EverLink Suite," said Lew Tucker,
director of strategic relations at Suns Java Software
Division. "We are pleased that Java technology
is helping to deliver this exciting software product
to organizations who need to provide secure, platform
independent communications with employees and partners
worldwide."
EverLink transforms the
Internet into an organizations fully secure private
network linking together mobile and remote workers,
partners, suppliers and customers. Even though communication
is via the Internet, the EverLink Suites advanced
security features protect against message interception
and unauthorized access.
"We are gratified
that Anyware Technology is using RSAŽ encryption technology
to pioneer a new method of secure peer-to-peer Internet
communications," said Scott Schnell, vice-president
of marketing, RSA Data Security. "We look forward
to working with Anyware Technology in support of their
product and to continue building on this relationship."
Helps Organizations
to Maintain a Secure Enterprise
The EverLink Suite was
designed to address the needs of organizations who incorporate
the use of the Internet, intranet and extranets into
their corporate strategies. User demand for global access
to important information from wherever they are (and
from any computer platform) -- be it in their corporate
or branch office, home office or airplane -- continues
to create an ongoing challenge for Information Technology
(IT) Executives and Business Owners.
"Everlink provides
a cost-effective solution that offers benefits for users
while, in addition, the Suite addresses corporate security,
privacy, support and total cost of ownership (TCO) concerns
of Corporate IT and Finance Executives," said Glenn
Hunter, vice president of marketing, Anyware Technology.
Through its integrated
use of security and computer software technology, the
EverLink Suite provides Corporate IT Managers with intrusion
locks and logs -- features that fully support corporate
need to maintain strict integrity of a secure and private
enterprise.
"We are pleased that
Anyware Technology has incorporated the industry standard
SSLava Toolkit as the basis for their SSL communications
layer," said Joel Fan, vice president of the Security
Products Group at Phaos Technology. "EverLink is
a successful application of Java Technology which is
made even more attractive through the security features
provided by our toolkit -- thereby enabling organizations
to communicate with employees, partners and customers
in a more secure manner."
The Everlink Suite
The EverLink Suite consists
of three fully integrated software components that work
together to provide a low-cost, secure, private and
cross-platform solution for communication and remote
network access.
The EverLink Client establishes
a virtual office home page for direct computer-to-computer
links between authorized users, verifies passwords and
authenticates an EverLink Owners Certificate before
it allows communications. Users connect to EverLink
virtual office pages using Web browsers or the systems
intuitive interface. To eliminate the danger of interception,
all access is peer-to-peer through SSL (Secure Sockets
Layer) channels.
EverLink LocatorOne
lists IP (Internet Protocol) addresses for EverLink
users virtual office home pages. LocatorOne allows an
address to be listed after authenticating the clients
EverLink Owners Certificate and offers search
functions.
EverLink EntryGuard
protects internal networks from unauthorized access
while allowing authorized users to communicate securely
and privately with specific sites inside the firewall.
Unlike other communications products, EverLink EntryGuard
does not create an open pathway through an organizations
firewall.
Pricing and Availability
Currently in Beta, the
EverLink Suite will be commercially available in mid-May
1998. Anyware Technology plans to distribute the product
through network security, Internet, and intranet Valued
Added Resellers (VARs). A 30-day free trial version
of the EverLink software is available as a download
from its Web site. Pricing for the server-based product
has not yet been announced. The company also plans to
work with partners for co-marketing.
